1. Open the TriVice Desktop Application:
Locate the TriVice Desktop shortcut on your Windows desktop.
Double-click the icon to launch the application.
2. Login and Launch the Toolbar:
A login screen will appear. Enter your TriVice username and password, then click the Connect button.
Note: Contact your practice IT admin if you need login details.
The TriVice Desktop Toolbar will launch and display various icons for different functions.
3. Start a Referral:
Click the Refer a Patient icon on the toolbar to initiate a new referral.
4. Select Specialty:
From the dropdown menu, choose the relevant specialty (e.g. Ophthalmology (Paediatric)) and click Next.
5. Verify Patient Information:
Patient demographics will auto-populate from the patient record in SystmOne or EMIS Web.
Note: If patient details are not auto populated, use the Patient Query feature to search for details from NHS Digital by entering the NHS number.
Fill in any missing mandatory data, such as Parent/Carer information or GP details. Once complete, click Next.
6. Triage the Injury:
Select the appropriate clinical concern or referral pathway from the list, then click Next.
7. Answer Clinical Questions:
Respond to all relevant questions to help the system triage the concern.
Add free text where applicable for additional information.
8. Upload Images and Select Consent:
If necessary, upload images from your desktop or take photos using your mobile device. Follow these steps:
Scan the QR code displayed on the screen using your mobile phone.
Follow the instructions to take and upload images directly to TriVice.
Note: Images will not be stored on your mobile device.
The images will be displayed on the web page and added to the referral.
After selecting the necessary consent options, click Next.
9. Submit the Referral:
Review the summary screen and ensure all information is correct.
Click the Submit button to finalize the referral.
10. Confirmation:
A confirmation message will appear, and the case details, including images, will be stored in the system.
Click Understood to proceed.
11. Review Case Outcome:
TriVice will generate and display the case outcome (decision).
Check the box to send patient leaflets via Advise & Guidance if applicable.
Click Submit to complete the submission to the receiving NHS provider (e.g., Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital).
12. Print or Download the Case PDF:
After reviewing the case, you can choose to print or download the referral as a PDF.
Click Close to exit the screen.
13. Referral Complete:
The TriVice case has been successfully submitted.
You may choose to provide feedback on the TriVice application or return to the specialty screen to create a new referral.
